Two of my very best friends, Nicole and Allen, got married last week, and I couldn’t be more excited for them! But let’s backtrack a bit… Nicole had asked me to do their engagement photos awhile ago, and we had planned on me flying out to San Diego from Nashville to visit them and get some shots on the beautiful mountainous beaches of southern California. However, life got in the way and I never made it out west.
So we decided to make the most of the situation and take some engagement photos while Nicole and Allen were in Virginia for their wedding! It’s a little backwards, but when you’re dealing with the military and 4,000 miles of distance between you, you just do what you gotta do. We jokingly called this a “honeymoon” shoot instead of an engagement shoot, because these two newlyweds aren’t going on their honeymoon until they have some more vacation time next year. I don’t know about you, but I think doing a photoshoot is an okay temporary tradeoff for a honeymoon!
